BURCHELL'S COURSER
Bloukopdrawwertjie
- cursorius rufus
This bird was named after the English naturalist: William John Burchell. Although this specific Burchell's Courser chick was photographed in Namibia, they are located all throughout the western regions of southern Africa such as Namibia, Botswana, south-western Angola and the west of South Africa. The Burchell's Courser survives in these desert regions by feeding on seeds and insects. They grow from this small chick's size, which isn't larger than a golf ball, to approximately 21cm in height and weigh around 75g.
